Kellie Merrigan has served on the Board of Directors for the Missouri Perfusion Society since 2009. She served as Secretary/ Treasurer from 2011-2013.

EXPERIENCE:

Ms Merrigan worked as a Respiratory Therapist in Omaha from 1989 to 2001 at which time she entered perfusion school at The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). She graduated from UNMC in 2003 with a Master’s in Perfusion Science. Since that time she has worked primarily at Children’s Mercy Hospital(CMH) In Kansas City.

While at CMH, Ms Merrigan has been active in education, research and ECMO program development. She has been fortunate to have worked under Gary Grist throughout this time and has appreciated the positive learning environment at CMH. An institutional database, created by Mr Grist and utilized by Ms Merrigan and her peers, has been valuable in allowing the CMH perfusion team to follow patient’s outcomes, evaluate perfusion practices, and identify opportunites for improvement, consistency of practice and cinical advancement.

I aspire to contribute to the continued growth and success of the perfusion profession In addition, I welcome the opportunity to grow and be inspired by new ideas and the experiences of others by promoting collaboratation across institutions.
