Ryan is currently employed by Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri where he has been a staff perfusionist since December, 2010. This has been his sole job since graduating with a Certificate in Perfusion Technology from the Texas Heart Institute.

Within the past year, Ryan has enjoyed participating in the partnership with the perfusion programs at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Medical University of South Carolina. Perfusion education has always been of interest to Ryan, and he has enjoyed being a clinical instructor helping teach perfusion students clinical skills. At Barnes-Jewish Hospital Ryan is faced with a challenging assortment of clinical cases, including providing support for one of the largest heart failure programs in the country.

Ryan grew up in the St. Louis area and attended college at the University of Missouri from 2005 to 2009. There he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. He is still an avid Missouri Tiger fan and enjoys making trips back to his alma mater.

In his free time Ryan enjoys spending time with his soon to be wife, Alyssa. They enjoy trying new activities, which over the last year include fishing, rock climbing, and kayaking. Ryan’s hobbies include golf, which he finds to be incredibly relaxing and surrounded by beautiful scenery.
