Heather Harris

Heather Harris is currently a Staff Perfusionist at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, where she has been since May 2014.

Heather has held previous positions as a Paid Perfusion Intern for Heme Management based in Lincoln, Nebraska, a Contract Perfusionist stationed at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri for Salyer Perfusion, and Chief of Perfusion at SoutheastHEALTH in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

In 2008, Heather graduated from Peru State College in Peru, Nebraska with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry before obtaining her Master’s in Perfusion Science in 2010 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.  During her clinical rotations, she gained valuable knowledge and experience through working at The Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, and St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.

Heather is passionate about the field of Perfusion and looks forward to the innovations in the field as well as how the Missouri Perfusion Society will support its members in the ever changing field.
